Return To The BoomBox Radio
This is the podcast of the Hip Hop radio show Return To The BoomBox Radio, which airs live every Saturday evening at 6 PM (EST) on Brooklyn College Radio, WBCR 1090 AM. The show consists of three co-hosts: Dialekt718, Jeff Strange & DJ BlacKnight. Dialekt718 is a emcee who honed his skills here and in the VA, Jeff Strange is a voice over talent with a considerable hip hop background and DJ BlacKnight is a upcoming scratch DJ and producer. All three are very knowledgeable in the field of Hip Hop, and this does not include Souljah Boy or any other pop rap artist.

For the final show of the year, this four hour long podcast was packed with interviews, music and year end remarks. The first two hours featured a brief interview with producer J.J. Brown who dropped by to talk about putting his album together, how he chose the artists who appear on it and what he feels is lacking in the way current albums are put together. Right after that came an interview with Dr. Aida Winfrey, who discussed her new intervention program aimed at minority youth through Hip Hop, why she decided to put this together and what she found in her research. And then the first half of the conversation with Daru Jones followed up after a long set of music with talks on why he made his new sampler EP free, the debate about being a beatmaker vs a producer and how the new wave of producers has changed the game.

Picking up from the first part, the interview with Daru Jones concludes on talking about topics like why he chose the particular remixes he did, what he brings to Hip Hop as a drummer and what is in the works for 2010.
